Shackel Avenue, Clovelly

Did you know Clovelly was once Sydney’s main defence base against a Russian attack from the sea or that a single property called “By The Sea” was subdivided to form Ocean Street, Shackel Avenue, part of Eastbourne Street and part of Northumberland Street in Clovelly? Or that 4 Bedroom Houses in Clovelly have had an incredible 53.8% rise in price over the last 12 months?
Adrian is on Shackel Avenue to talk about the evolution of this area.

Welcome. It’s Adrian Bo from Ray White Park Coast Eastern Suburbs. And this week, as part of my local community and history series, I’m in Maroubra Junction on Anzac Parade between Maroubra Road and Green Street to talk about the proposed green oasis that is planned here as well as a new facility over at Heffron Park and some other recent activity in Maroubra. Council recently announced that a proposed green oasis at Maroubra Junction was given the green light to go to tender. The area under discussion is an underused space in the middle of Anzac Parade. And the vision is to create a pedestrian precinct and communal meeting place with landscaping and street furniture designed to attract people as a hub as well as become a venue for farmers’ markets, exhibitions and entertainment spaces. Sounds like it would be a great new addition to the local community. Now the new ‘state of the art’ Heffron Centre Development is due to be completed by the end of this year.

And the netball component of the centre has been a major boost. The green light has been given for a concept plan that would enable a $3.2 million investment into undercover seating. I knew netball was one of the most participated sports at Heffron Park, but I was shocked to hear there are 341 teams who actually use the venue. The new Heffron Centre is going to be a spectacular place. And of course becoming the new base for the South Sydney Rabbitohs High Performance Centre, as well as their Souths Cares community-focused charity. Long-time Rabbitohs member and current Souths Cares board member David Dinte and his wife Judy have recently made a very generous donation to the Rabbitohs Foundation. And the organisation have decided to recognise this generosity by naming a new theatre, the David and Judy Dinte Theatre, part of the community and high performance centre at Heffron Park. The plaque that will adorn the theatre wall was recently presented to David by Blake Solly, Rabbitohs CEO, at the Rabbitohs versus St. George Illawarra Dragons game. Maroubra also recently hit the news headlines when a local mum won the lottery, just under $1.1 million in cash, having bought her ticket at Pacific Square News here, right on Anzac Parade. The Maroubra property market continues to power ahead.

Three-bedroom house prices in Maroubra have increased by 26.1% over the last 12 months to $2.34 million. Four-bedroom houses have risen by 28.4% to $3,000,075. And five-bedroom houses have risen by a whopping 39.6% to $3,910,000. One-bedroom units in Maroubra have risen by 16.7% to $733,000. Two bedrooms have risen by 11.7% to $980,000. Three-bedroom units finally have risen by 9.1% to $1.2 million. I’ve sold many houses and units in Maroubra over the last 34 years, including recently No. 8 Bond Street, a five-bedroom home, which I sold for $6,000,025. Also 14 Little Street, a six-bedroom house which I sold for just under $5 million. And also 907 Anzac Parade, a four-bedroom home which I sold for $2,075,000. And I’m taking a lovely three-bedroom semi with stunning views at 22 Wilson Street to market. And that is a very attractive home as well. That’s my latest update from Maroubra with plenty of new facilities to look forward to. So if you’d like to consider a valuation for your property, please don’t hesitate to call me on 0418 278 316.
